The Liebster Award

First off, I want to say a big thank you to Harriet Victoria for nominating me for the Liebster Award. It’s a wonderful way to show off new blogging talent, who are still working to grow a following and y’know, make each other feel a little bit special.

The rules are:

  • Thank and link back to the blogger who so kindly nominated you
  • Answer the 11 questions they have asked you
  • Nominate bloggers who have a following of <200 on Bloglovin’
  • Ask them 11 questions
  • Notify the nominees

It’s that simple! Here are the questions Harriet asked me…

Why did you start blogging?
I started a blog for a few reasons, but the main one was that because I write ad copy all day for a living, I needed a way to figure out my own tone of voice and a blog seemed the best way to do it. Plus I get to write whatever I want!

What is your dream career?
It’s going to sound really cheesy and cliché, but as long I’m writing, I don’t really care. I guess I’m still figuring out where I want to end up. But whether I carry on in ad land, end up blogging full time or write a novel, I’m excited to see where it all takes me.

What is your favourite beauty product ever?
Boi-ing Concealer from Benefit is my absolute favourite thing in my make up bag. I remember it being described to me as “industrial strength concealer” and I’ve had to agree. See ya, spots!

Favourite high street store?
I love Waterstones, especially the massive one near Piccadilly Circus. It’s huge and you can easily get lost in there, plus it’s so quiet and peaceful, I find it hard to prise myself away. SO MANY BOOKS.

What is your favourite blog and why?
At the moment, I’m obsessed with the Wonder Forest. This chick is a blogging guru and has so many ideas, tips and advice on how to run a successful blog, as well as regular beauty and lifestyle posts. Dana is a powerhouse of creativity and her levels of expertise are definitely something to strive towards.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d really love to be more of a morning person. You know, one of those people who gets shit done hours before they’re due to start work, but sadly I find my bed too cosy and my eyes too tired. Hopefully, that will change though.

Favourite place you’ve visited?
I absolutely love Cornwall, especially Polruan (I don’t stray far, huh?). My family have a house near Looe and it’s turned into quite the happy place for us. When I’m old and grey, I like to think I would retire down there and live by the sea, own a dog and write a tonne of novels.

Favourite female and male celebrity?
Emma Stone has to be number one. She’s confident, funny and can quite happily stand up for what she believes in – plus, have you SEEN the Jimmy Fallon lip-sync battle?! Jeeeeez! My favourite male celebrity has and always will be Robin Williams, he saw me through my childhood and cheered me up whenever I was sick, sad or feeling a little lonely. Also, when I was a kid, I cried once because my mum bought Flubber home from the library and I wasn’t expecting it. It’s weirdly one of my happiest memories.

Top three television programmes?
Doctor Who, Game of Thrones and Family Guy.

Where would you like to be in 5 years time?
This is a tough one. As Harriet said in answer to a question like this, I just want to be happy. Maybe I’d be thinking about settling down with someone, or have started working for myself.

What is your biggest fear?
I’m really, really scared of losing people close to me – just the thought terrifies me. But, a close second has to be falling – my knees go weird just thinking about it!

Phew! So, my nominees are…

The 11 questions you lovely lot have to answer are:

What inspired you to start blogging?

What aspect of owning a blog have you found most difficult?

What aspect of owning a blog have you found most rewarding?

What post are you most proud of?

Who is your favourite blogger right now and why?

Who would you most like to collaborate on a post with?

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Where in the world feels most like home?

If you were to have only one aim in life, what would it be?

What will your next post be about?

And finally, would you rather have a) no arms or b) the head of a goat that could see through walls?

Again, a very big TA VERY MUCH to Harriet! And I look forward to seeing all of your answers very soon…
